Your right it has, it working now. SuSE uses wvdial, it always works.
But very strange it's using /dev/ttyS0. In mdk 7.2 it was /dev/ttyS2,
at the moment suse is /dev/ttyS2.

Is there any other way of running wvdial than suid root?, kppp is the
same.

I'll be surprised when it works out of the box, it never has for me i'll
soon see if 8.1 works.
But i think your right, SuSE the way to go.
