Hi,
Every time I start X, I see a message flash by in the console before the
Nvidia logo something about hostname to connect to. However it does not
appear in /var/log/XFree86.0.log. And I get a connection to my loacl x
client.

What file do I edit to tell my startx script to connect to localhost?
rather than looking for an xclient somewhere on the uni network.

I have a feeling that all the traffic from my x server to x client takes
a wee trip out to the switch I am connected to and back. (I have been
watching the traffic volumes on eth0 and it seems a bit large for
sitting in X with a local copy of matlab running!) I would like to
change this so it only goes flying around the loopback device if I can
help it at all.

However as mentioned previously I can not find the file to edit to tell
my x server to connect to the x client on localhost.

Thanks,

Mark
