Yes I'd be happy for OpenOffice to be removed. KWord is still there & 
imho is much nicer than OpenOffice, but let's not start a flammage over 
that. However that will only save you ~ 150Megs or so. You will have to 
drop another 200Megs and that will really detract from the quality of 
the demo as well as leaving you with the very real possiblility that 
something will get broken.

The knoppix as distributed at the moment is still in beta, and didn't 
detect my sound card correctly. Please wait until the 2.4.19 kernel is 
in it. If you possibly can, can you persuade the said editor to make the 
CD a "Super single disk no-fuss Linux demo distribution. Just boot it 
and go."

If that fails I'd suggest that you contact the Knoppix fellow and get 
him to suggest what you should do.
