I did something like this once...

When the CD was inserted I wanted to run index.html, but I needed an exe
in the autorun file.

I found a wee prog capable of running anything with the associated
software on the machine the CD was inserted into.

If you want - I'll look for it at home.

ObSemi-On-Topic: FreeBSD is quite interesting to use....  theres some
noticable differences, but every good linux geek should at least play
with it.
