We have had a number of failures with Aopen CD-RW drives (both 32X and 40X models). The old models were good but these latest two have been lousy (IMHO). In the end the supplier replaced them with BTC claiming that they have a far lower return rate. No bad news so far on the BTC but it may be too soon to say.

I'm wanting to buy a new CDRW Drive, and was wondering if anyone has any recommendations. Here are some options from www.pcgamer.co.nz. So far I'm favouring the Aopen drive because some CLUG people recommended it a few weeks back . . . ___________________________________________________________________ Aopen CD-ReWriter IDE 40xW/12xRW/48xR, Retail, Justlink Technology, with Nero v5.5 $153.00 BTC 40xW/12xRW/48xR Retail with Nero v5.5 and Superlink Technology $155.00 LiteOn Internal IDE CD Writer 40xW/12xRW/40xR, Retail $164.00 LiteOn Internal IDE CD Writer 32xW/12xRW/40xR, Retail $146.00 LiteOn Internal IDE CD Writer 24xW/10xRW/40xR, Retail $127.00 MSI Dragonwriter CD-ReWriter Internal IDE 40xW/12xRW/40xR, Retail with Nero v5.5 $145.00 ___________________________________________________________________ GC _________________________________________________________________ MSN Photos is the easiest way to share and print your photos: http://photos.msn.com/support/worldwide.aspx
