The floppy uses the msdos fs (I think).
I used a utility in kde to format both msdos fs and ext2 fs floppies and
only the msdos fs formatted disk was recognised when the drive was
mounted. (I was trying to create a boot disk).

I eventually used the command mkbootdisk (this is the one that doesn't
work!)

I'm 99% sure the hd uses ext2... that is where my knowledge ends I'm
afraid. :0)
