Meeting was opened at 7:30PM by Zane Gilmore as evening Chairperson. Approximately 40 were present. Members of the meeting asked John Veitch to help out with the proceedings. Members of the meeting felt that as there were five nominations this time round, that the committee should therefore consist of five instead of four to save the formality of voting one name off of the list. (Details will be posted here in list Thursday) &&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&& Installfest The CLUG installfest to be held Canterbury University on the 15th of March was discussed. Main points I noted from this discussion were: That we should limit our have at least 25 sets of distros burned by opening time. That we should concentrate on RedHat, Mandrake and that we should have Knoppix disks also. That we should look in to having a small distro such as VAlinux-enhanced Redhat. Or possibly Redhat 6.2 for slower machines. That we limit machines accepted for installations to a 486 DX80 with 32megs of RAM or higher That Leo organize publicity for the installfest.
