The Windows machine already has a Linux install on another partition. Which I shamefully admit has not been booted for a few months now :( The reason I'm considering a Windows X client is because I'm thinking of getting a CD writer for my server. One of the graphical front-end tools would simplify things, and I don't want to have to reboot to burn a disc. I could just write a script though as the files to be backed up will always be under the same directory. This brings up another question: are there any CD writers to be explicitly avoided? I'm thinking of grabbing a cheapie BTC IDE 48x16x48 drive (not the one that's on special at PCU). Cheers, - Dave http://www.digistar.com/~dmann/
