SuSE doesn't, and hasn't for a while. The kdm config is generated from
a template and settings in /etc/sysconfig/* by SuSEconfig. This checks
for available window managers and adjusts the kdm config accordingly.
Some people hate SuSEconfig, but I find the principle very good for
saving admin time by doing things I don't want to have to find out
about.
