It may be wise at the dry run to test with both knoppix & Nick's CD.
It sounds like Nick has made a neat CD, but it may have a few wrinkles.
I've installed all my Gentoo's via a knoppix boot, as long as you can get the 
appropriate stage file onto your box somehow then it is the same as a gentoo install.
