CLUG I'm trying to run an update program for Nvidia display driver, it has to be run withour "X" running etc. Nvidia provides an update utility for this
I have configured WvDial to run in terminal and it works fine (dials up connects etc) 1. But what I am unsure how to do is how to run a terminal/console at the prompt without X running, in order to run the Nvidia update utility If all else fails I can FTP the update file and run it with emacs/reconfig inittab & x86 etc when I boot up (which is how I installed the updated Nvidia driver in the first place) I have spent a couple of nights on the HowTos/Rute etc without finding much ALSO 2.
