Hi,
 I have installed 6.2, 7.1, 7.2, 7.3, 8 and 9 several times.

I have fond that the best approach with redhat is to do a custom install,
and in the select packages, do a select all. - I thought it was about
3.6 gigs.

The reason is very simple: as soon as you want to start up a new facility
on the box, there is a very good chance it is already installed, ready to
go. It means also that when loading a new rpm onto the box, there is a
good chance all the dependancies are met.
(this is no longer true for me as my main computer has not been kept up to
date and is still rh 9)

Derek.
