No Rik I didn't fine a mirror.

It was only 18mb for all the stuff I downloaded this afternoon so it didnt'
really matter.

When I get a decent netlink in here I'm going to set up some mirror servers
for all the oss I can find.

Telstra run a really good one in AU and I think it makes a big impact on
their getting bb customers, I know I loved it because the traffic wasn't
counted towards data limits. iiNet (iHug in NZ) also do the same thing with
big mirrors and it makes a big difference.

Thing about all these different web sites for different software is that you
have to do so much jumping about to get your downloads and every web site
seems to have stuff located in different places.

I thought Jason's list before was fantastic but I can see how some people
would object to hitting their download limit that hard.

Now before the rest of you go on about keeping things up to date, it's not
really that hard to make a web based site with information about the
uptodateness of the files. Most people don't give a toss if their files are
the latest version when they're just downloading a version to give the
software a go. It actually anoys me more that I have to spend so long just
looking for the version to download.

I'd like to be able to go a page where I put in the type of machine and OS
I'm using then get a complete list... I guess that's what download.com is
for but that's not a local mirror is it?

Cheers Don
