When I first started with Linux a very helpful poster reminded me that it is unreasonable to expect to be proficient with a new OS in such a short time. After all, your Windows experience has been gained over a much longer period.
While computing principles are common, OS'es are very different. I struggled a little at first but now I do not use Windows at all at home. As you have said many times. Be Patient.
