If I use Konqueror for web browsing and a link points to something like a .pdf or a .doc file, Konqueror automatically opens the file in the appropriate application such as kpdf or kword. But if I use Firefox as the browser, it doesn't seem to know about the standard file associations, and it usually pops up a dialog asking if I want to save the file or open it with some application that I have to browse for.
How do I make Firefox use/inherit the standard file associations? Regards Tom Munro Glass
