Ian Foster, one of the two "fathers" of Grid Computing (I had shown a picture of him during my presentation) was born in Wellington - I didn't know this during my presentation at CLUG. He then studied at Canterbury University in Christchurch, before going to the US.

Encouraging this esteemed gentleman ( http://www-fp.mcs.anl.gov/~foster/ ) to revisit his academic home would be a real coup.
