*Move my /home onto the / partition*
Well, that's generally seen as a bad move, if you expect to be doing any destructive upgrading/testing of your OS.
Despite that :-) Ubuntu by default just lump everything into one big / partition, for simplicity :-)
But, if you expect to be wanting to do something like install a different OS, you really need /home to be separate.
