Does the 20 Gb drive support DMA at all? Some laptop drives just don't... Buy a 2.5" USB case and be happy with that.

I think the reasons with this Armada are more nefarious though. SuSE 8.0 used to work just fine (sans DMA on the 20GB though), but it was time to upgrade. Ooops. As the machine is really too slow, another effort on the DMA was a good idea. In the process the whole story went belly-up.
