I know it's a no-no to post a "me to", but that is my experience also.
The black hats were able to crack into earlier IPCop versions and wreck the
routing table, but the current one has survived running 24/7 for months
for me.

What I like to have demonstrated is extending IPCop to allow the use of the
Orinoco wireless driver so that my ThinkPad laptop can connect to the 'Net
using a wireless card. As there is only 1 lappie here at home, it should
be possible to do this relatively simply using the Ad-hoc wireless mode.
I am sure I'm no the only person on the list who would find such a set-up
very useful.

I have the lappie pinging the IPCop fine, but I am not very sure about
altering the IPTABLEs scripts.

If there is somebody who has knowledge of setting up a NAT script and has a
modicum of public speaking skills. Then could they please take note that
they would be very welcome to speak to us.

Steve ?
