Neil was buggering about with a light weight window manager the other day that seemed to work quite well on my Toshiba laptop.

Firefox and Open Office (if it will run).

Abiword & GnuCash if not.

Why are you talking about GnuCash?

Isn't that a cash book? How do you see having that on the platform as being a benefit to our community users?

The primary purpose of this project is to give our local community access to www.crra.org.nz

I received a great deal of positive feedback but also a growing number of locals have commented that can't access it due to lack of a computer.

If I succeed in delivering that much, and it gets used, then the project is a winner. Anything else is a bonus.

BONUS PRIZES

If I get the resources I am going to 100% promote the fact it's a linux /gnu/oss platform with posters, free cds, booklets, etc.

(Chris if you're lurking, I'll be back to talk to you about that book of yours.)

impressive progress. will come check it out, once running.

The idea is impressive. It's also nothing new. Rik has also worked on this idea in a different form and it didn't come off yet.

It will be impressive if I make it come off, but I'm not there yet....

Please wish the project luck and if you have an inside word in council then put in your positive vote.

Cheers Don
