The ndiswrapper program lets almost all, but not absolutely every, wireless card work under Linux, but never as an access-point. http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net/ It's a bit of a kludge which works well most of the time, but you'd be better off using a card which comes with a native Linux driver.
