been away for a month, What OS are we installing for the install fest?
Probably Linux.
Really I was hoping for something else maybe OS/2???
*BSD if anyone wants.
But seriously has much thought gone into which LINUX DISTRIBUTION will
be getting installed. Are we swaying in Ubuntus favour or Mepis's or
something different again?
All of the above, dispassionately (as a group). i.e. whatever an
installer and installee want to agree upon. Bearing in mind that free
monthly lessons are available at this venue, based around - but not
exclusively - Ubuntu. St Albans advertising for the KDE support would be
appropriate.
So far we have no new CDs arrived, though plenty of Ubuntu 6.06 from
last year - still 2 years of support promised on it - a very stable
distro, adequately functional. ..Maybe 7.04s will arrive in time..
Which is an invitation for people to burn and bring along anything they
want to offer out and support.
= Free Market rules operated under.
Is this the last time you'll hijack threads too? Last I heard, there was a
general consensus that installfests were no longer necessary, and any minor
glitches were to be brought to the monthly meetings???
Steve
Yes, that appraisal's what we're testing, the weekend after next.
