Nick i am running XP as a client under Kubuntu. i have an ISO called VboxGuestAdditions.iso which when installed allows my vertual XP OS to run in a seemless mode (ie no holding down right CTRL key and left clicking mouse to switch the mouse focus from client OS to Guest OS. I also have had a sandboxes vertual linux OS running and it's the same feature. justed googled and this site maybe of interest to you (ie you can then control the screen resolution as per normal linux as you'll have 100% of the available screen space to use as your screen (less the XP tool bar). HTH dave.
