HoneyPots and HoneyNets: Wednesday, March 6

Honeypots help the good guys make attacks much more dangerous for the
bad guys. This Wednesday at 1:00 pm EST (1800 UTC), via a free web
broadcast, you can hear a briefing by the Internet's top honeypot
expert - Lance Spitzner. Lance will show you how the Honeynet (a
combination of honeypots) discovered a real attack, specifically the
first known capture of a new exploit used in the wild. He'll also
provide you with pointers to resources that will allow you to
participate in the defense of the Internet through honeypots and
honeynets.

You can listen live and ask questions, or, once you have an access
code, sign on later to listen to it at your leisure.

Note: This program is a preview of the type of material that will
be presented in the two day HoneyPots course by Marcus Ranum and
Lance Spitzner that will be presented April 1 and 2 at SANS2002 in
Orlando. (More data on SANS 2000 is at http://www.sans.org/SANS2002/)
