Some notes on a fresh RH 7.3 install. The darn thing found everything including my ISA SB32, excluding my zip drive. The zip was a bit confusing until I figured out it is now /dev/hdd instead of /dev/hdd4....go figure? I also needed to append ide-floppy to lilo.conf. I have a USB compact/smart dual card reader. I plugged it in and added the proper line to fstab, /dev/sda1 /mnt/card auto defaults 0 0 and made a floppy icon for it...works great.
side note. I have a Kodak DC5000 digital camera. After trial and error I found that Gphoto supports it as the Kodak 240 through the serial cable. Works great but a bit slow compared to the Kodak software on my NT box. I have not gotten my Sony vid-cam TRV525 working yet. Guess I'll need to get a 1394 card. Cant get anything through the serial connect. I also have a connectix "quick clip" parallel that I just cant get working under linux?!? the end.
