While building kernels I notice that I end up with a bzImage and a vmlinux files. The bzImage I copy to /boot as a vmlinuz-xxxxx and it is specified in lilo.conf. What is the vmlinux file for? Why is it generated. Is it the uncompressed version of bzImage?
