??? deadline? no deadline. just for fun. I always want to investigate the posibliity of replacing clipper 5 with perl+mysql+curse.

Are you a competent perl programmer?

no. I knew xBase (notably Clipper and Foxpro) from the bottom up.

Have you ever done any curses programming?

a bit. but using C. It's a distributed banking system prototype in a post-graduate computer course (which I didn't complete).
