Tell us it isn't so <G>!!! I read the release hype, er I mean changelog and almost did the same thing but then remembered why I left it and that I didn't need that hassle <G>.
I haven't used it since 2.2.1 so I can't be much help. 1. Under 2.2.1 you went to Settings ->configure kmail and used the network part to set up the mail.
