I just stumbled across this package manager named ENCAP. The URL is at the end of this text.
Basically it arranges packages in a manner different than I've seen before. Each package resides in its' own directory. All packages are at the end of /usr/local/encap/ and all required package resources are made available via links. What you end up with is a bunch of links in say, /bin, /sbin, /lib, etc. An interesting idea, worth looking into. Frankly, I like it better than sprinkling bins, libs and mans all over the directory tree... http://encap.cites.uiuc.edu/epkg/ -- ****************************************************************************** Registered Linux User Number 185956 http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&safe=off&group=linux Join me in chat at #linux-users on irc.freenode.net This email account no longers accepts attachments or messages containing html. 10:05pm up 47 days, 3:39, 2 users, load average: 1.02, 1.04, 0.98 _______________________________________________ Linux-users mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] Unsubscribe/Suspend/Etc -> http://www.linux-sxs.org/mailman/listinfo/linux-users
