My OOo1.0.2 has its dictionary at
/opt/OpenOffice.org1.0.2/share/workbook/english

Look under Tools > Options > OpenOffice.org > Paths

There's also User-defined dictionaries under
Tools > Options > Language Settings > Writing Aids

Of course mine are already there.  If yours really are missing I dunno.
