I don't see why malicious data couldn't be hidden in an mp3 file. If a malicious package can compromise sendmail, why not an mp3 player?
I ask because one of my wife's friends had a virus take over their computer. They had to call in professionals to clean it up. They were told the only thing they could point to as a source of the virus was an "mp3" file.
This seems unlikely, since what kind of virus is going to crash your computer before it has time to spread? Any ideas?
not really. were these "experts" MCSE's?
