I dual boot a lindows computer and XP Pro. Suddenly (in fact, after running the lindows 4.0 demo cdrom), XP pro loads and runs VERY slowly. The only other symptom is the fact the hard drive light, instead of flickering when it starts up, stays continuously red.
XP has the HPFS/NTFS file system. My suspicion is that the hard drive, which is an old cast off, is the problem. Are there any tools in linux I could use to check out this drive? Are there any easy ways just to clone the "failing" hard drive.
