As posted on the gentoo home page: Devfs was declared obsolete today in the 2.6-test kernel!?!
I can already hear the wild cheers from some of you. It's not readily apparent what the successor is. There's something called UDEV in the works, but what little data I can find leads me to believe that UDEV is pre-alpha quality.
