yes, YOU CAN ran a telnet securely ..... It's called using tcp wrappers.
Now, granted, passwords are in the clear, BUT, if the server side can support it,
and the client side has it (linux to linux) then there is the Kerbros authentication, and
the "-x " data stream encryption.


If you are talking a WinSloth telnet, then EXPECT to be hacked.
