I know, don't respond to your own posts (especially if nobody cares). But if
we can talk about Keith Antoine's thongs, a reply to my own post sould be OK.
Who knows? Someone might find it on the archive and get some use out of it...
The problem was that the router was configured as a modem/leased line router.
If it's configured that way, freesco's rc_portf script will not read the
/etc/forward.cfg file and, hence, will not forward any ports. I changed the
configuration so that it's set up as an ethernet router, and ports 20 and 21
are now open for ftp service.
