I'm running eD2.4 with 2.2.14 kernel. Yes, I know 2.4.7 is current, but I don't have any usb devices and plan on updating the kernel when I update the distro and hardware. :) What problems are you having with the cdrw drive? I ran Sybil for a couple of months and noticed that /dev/cdrom was pointed to the wrong device on install. As far as I know SirCam will not infect or affect Linux. I don't even think it'll drop it's payload file(if it has one). IIRC, it's just a vbs script that will infect MS Outlook.
