thos who can contribute (here in the US), please find your local chapter and
do what you can. Up-and-coming techs (the students) and cash-strapped schools
are 2 good audiences for OpenSource, IMHO

TECH LITERATE VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR K-12 SCHOOLS

-- TECH CORPS Ohio, the state chapter of a national nonprofit
organization committed to enhancing K-12 education through the
effective use of technology in the classroom, is recruiting volunteers for
next school year. TECH CORPS Ohio recruits tech-literate volunteers
from the community and Ohio State to assist educators and students
with their technology needs. Volunteers assist by hardware
troubleshooting, software applications training, computer clubs, web
page design and the list goes on. At a start-up meeting at 4:30 p.m.
Sept. 25, volunteers and their schools explore strategies for
collaboration, identify common needs and resources and develop a
project plan. Volunteers assist throughout the school year and give as
much time as their schedules allow. Deadline to register is Sept. 14.
