I use win4lin for certain apps like quattropro. (The corel linux version is
buggy. Besides hanging up, its newest trick is to crash every time I print
anything from it to my new printer.)
I installed my lexmark z53 in win4lin, and all seemed to go fine, except I
didn't set up the port properly. I could print fine to a file and then use
lpr to print the file. I SHOULD HAVE STOPPED THERE BECAUSE IT WORKED.
However, it wasn't perfect.
So, I removed the bad port (exec lpr -P to
a non-existent print queue) and hooked the printer up to a proper port.
Didn't work right, so I tried to reinstall the z53 drivers again in win4lin.
After the drivers unpack themselves and the setup program runs, the setup
program just hangs towards the end of the operation, and I have to kill
the task to get control back. This fails whether I just use the Add Printer
options in settings or run the lexmark install program from scratch.
I have tried to uninstall the lexmark drivers, using their utility program,
but the program says there are no drivers to uninstall.
SO, what do I have to do to wipe this lexmark printer off my win4lin setup
so I can reinstall it properly?
Thanks,
Joel
