Here is my problem. (OK only one of them, I have many, but they don't really
pertain to this list!) IBM TP 600 running SuSe 7.2 proffesional. I have been
running kernel 2.4.5 with Win4Lin patch. And a Xircom PCMCIA net card. I
bought a Linksys wireless WAP11, and the PCMCIA card WPC11.
I got kernel 2.4.9 and the corresponding patches for win4lin. since I was
figuring on recompiling for the wireless.

I have recompiled 4 times and can't get the wireless card working. If I boot
the stock SuSe kernel 2.4.4-GB it works fine. when its working with that
kernel lsmod lists pcmcia_core, ds, i82365, and wvlan_cs.

I have tried the 2.4.9 kernel with compiling it internal, as well as using
the pcmcia as a module and it seems that the pcmcia doesn't work correctly
for some reason. It will recompile the xir2pc module for teh Xircom, but I
can't get the linksys to go.

When booting it up it states "Modprobe cannot locate pcmcia_core" and all the
others I just listed. Also tried to compile and install pcmcia-cs-3.1.29 (i
think thats the one) it goes through the motions and says everything is ok,
but doesn't actually install any of the modules?

any Ideas?

Mike
