I've used both reiserfs and xfs on my personal workstation (1 user - me) for some time, and both have saved my a## during reboots after a hung system (lost my ext2 system that way and had to rebuild). reiserfs is generally faster except for larger database sizes, but then it is 100% integrated into the kernel (as is ext3, I think). xfs works fine, but you are limited as to which kernel you use by availability of patches (don't even think about the -ac kernel series; it's not supported), and also grub isn't smart enough to boot from a xfs /boot filesystem. -- Collins Richey Denver Area gentoo_rc6 xfce+sylpheed _______________________________________________ Linux-users mailing list Archives, Digests, etc at http://linux.nf/mailman/listinfo/linux-users
