I know what you mean about the man pages. What I have found is that the Unix man pages, at least AIX man pages, provided a few examples of the command in action at the end of them. That is how I found good info on find. There is a resource on-line that has all the AIX man pages. I can't remember the URL and I have a sick daughter so I am home from work today and I have it bookmarked there. If you can find it you may want to check there.
