Just in case anyone else gets into trouble with rpms and cannot install via 
the rpm command. I lost mine and Kurt Wall reccommended that I try 
'rpm2tgz.tar.gz' which I found on freshmeat.net. This has worked a charm 
getting me backup without the need for a reinstall.
