One last recommendation: Textpad.
This is a superb programmer's editor that has a feature that allows the
user to choose saving the file in a DOS or Unix format, among others.
It's shareware, and after the trial period (during which you get a
fully-functional version), the purchase price is about $27 USD for a
single user, with discounts for quantity.
