One of the other strong points for ELX (IMHO) is that they include OpenOffice. Now that I'm running a more up-to-date machine (900Mz, 256M), oo works like a dream. Only about 15-18 seconds startup time. Now I can type my daughter's homework tables and all without having to bring up MS Word.
Now I can truly call this distro a "Windows Killer."
