Which version does that? Kword-2.3.3 works ok for me.
( but I havn't asked it to to more than set simple and straightforward texts
such as personal letters etc. )

Scribus <http://www.scribus.net/canvas/Scribus> is another very nice DTP
program with which you can put formatted words and images on paper.
