uname -a
Linux spica 2.4.20 #10 Mon Dec 8 20:47:15 CET 2003 i686 GNU/Linux

This is a Debian 'unstable' installation. There is no kbd. It can
be installed, but the system announces that in that case
"base-config" and "console-tools" will be removed. I havenÂt done
that yet because I have no idea of the side-effects.

Present base-config version: 2.04
console-tools version: 0.2.3dbs-45.1.
