Hello,

because my DV video camera didn't work with skype and nobody could help
me I bought a new webcam (Philips SPC 710NC).

I know it's not on the compatibility list, but a similar Philips camera
was and so I was brave.

Switching it to a recent Ubuntu laptop "worked" in Skype out of the
box. But the quality was really bad and other tools like luvcview or
guvcview doesn't work with the camera.

Ekiga worked with the camera and the I think the quality was much better
as in Skype. Not sure why.

Please try to help me. If it's not possible to get it working in good
quality I'll simply return it to my dealer.
