Hello Laurent, Ok, that explain something, i noticed that uvc doesn't support v4l1. > This is the first time I've heard of webKam. As it seems to be a very > young application you should probably report the problem to its author. I didn't research the apps, just install everything with a webcam in my description ;) Maybe it's a new kde4 app, so I have to search for options (maybe the same problem liek luvcview) After the latest update, cheese works :-) > >> ==== >> luvcview version 0.2.1 >> Video driver: x11 >> A window manager is available >> video /dev/video0 >> Unable to set format: 22 >> Init v4l2 failed !! exit fatal >> ==== > > Your camera doesn't support MJPEG, try 'luvcview -f yuv' (or upgrade to > luvcview 0.2.4). The one I have is the newest in the opensuse 11.1 repos, so I have to wait, as the 16 gb ssd is not a good built-enviroment ;) But other than that, the cam works, only window resizing crashes the viewer, but starting with a higher resolution (-s) works. Now I have to sort out, where the change of the brightnesslevel of the display is started, I had trouble with the kde4 powerdevil and thought it was sorted out with kde3, but while the cam is running, the backlight intensity changes more than once a minute. Maybe it's the hardware, kernel or videodriver... > >> The cam is from SuYin Corp, nearly listet on the frontpage, >> as lsusb shows up "064e:a118". >> >> I've modprobed "uvcvideo" with now parameters right now. >> >> The full verbose output of "lsusb -v -d 064e:a118" is >> pastebin-ed here: >> http://pastebin.ca/1294497 > > Thanks.
