Hi,
I bought a 5 mpixel webcam. And as a reviewer mentioned "better than
1.3 mpixel", I expected about 1.3Mpixels.
It seems to be 0.3 mpixels: 640x480. However I can't seem to be able to
change resolutions in wxcam.
Anyway, wxcam sees a 640x480 image, but every other program that
I've been trying gives errors:
gqcam
lucview
xine
codeine
mplayer
gqcam is the most "informative": It shows:
Error reading image...
at a rate similar to the refresh rate.
It currently shows on my USB bus:
Bus 008 Device 002: ID 058f:3820 Alcor Micro Corp.
I'm running a standard Ubuntu Jaunty system with
Linux version 2.6.28-13-generic (bui...@vernadsky) (gcc version 4.3.3 (Ubuntu
4.3.3-5ubuntu4) ) #45-Ubuntu SMP Tue Jun 30 19:49:51 UTC 2009
Any suggestions to get this to work "across the line"?
(I'm not on the list. please keep me CC-ed. Hope this goes through. )
Roger.
P.S. It doesn't.
P.P.S. Mailman stinks. The standard says Email addresses are case
insensitive. I subscribe in all-lowercase, it doesn't go through if I
send from my "normal" spelling email address, e.g. as in my signature.

Q: It doesn't work. A: Look buddy, doesn't work is an ambiguous statement.
Does it sit on the couch all day? Is it unemployed? Please be specific!
Define 'it' and what it isn't doing. --------- Adapted from lxrbot FAQ
