Hello, I've got a Samsung 2263UW with integrated webcam 0ac8:c31d. Viedo works well with kernel 2.6.29-gentoo-r4, but does not with 2.6.30-gentoo-r4. There is no error message or other message that points me to the problem.
From dmesg (with either kernel): uvcvideo 1-1.3:1.0: usb_probe_interface uvcvideo 1-1.3:1.0: usb_probe_interface - got id uvcvideo: Found UVC 1.00 device NMG 3M Webcam (0ac8:c31d) input: NMG 3M Webcam as /class/input/input5 usb 1-1.3: link qh2-0001/ffff8800bf0e9280 start 1 [1/0 us] usbcore: registered new interface driver uvcvideo USB Video Class driver (v0.1.0) When I use the device with luvcview (with either kernel): ste...@ds9 ~ $ luvcview -d /dev/video2 luvcview version 0.2.1 Video driver: x11 A window manager is available video /dev/video2 but with kernel 2.6.30 the window shows just a green area and the controls. I'm not sure which modules are necessary for the correct operation. I think the only one is uvcvideo.
